Third grade’s science unit on heat and insulation was a perfect time to experiment with temperature!
Our class did a S.T.E.A.M. experiment called “Color Me Happy”. In this experiment we learned about the neutral colors. We used the colors black, brown, gray, and white. With the neutral colored mitts, we added a thermometer to each one to tell which color was the hottest from the sun (solar energy). Most every group was able to tell that the black mitt got the hottest.
This is the color wheel. The neutral colors are not included on the color wheel. The primary colors are on the color wheel. They are blue, yellow and red. The secondary colors are green, orange, and purple.
