Newton's Laws 1 2 3 and Our Project

Here’s what we learned!

Inertia - Newton’s 1st law

Inertia keeps things in motion unless an outside force stops them. Inertia keeps things where they are unless you move them. Inertia does not stop an object that is in motion.

Acceleration - Newton’s 2nd law

Did you ever think about how much more force you need to push a car than a small rag doll? That’s acceleration! Think about it this way, the heavier an object is the more force is needed.

Action and Reaction - Newton's 3rd law is an action and then a reaction. If some people bumped into each other the smaller one will get the reaction.

Our creations

Mrs.Carr’s class made creations to tell about Newton’s three laws. We were in 7 groups. We made models of the laws. Our group used Hot Wheels cars. We tested out Newton’s 1st law by creating a ramp and driving the car down the ramp. We placed a rock at the bottom of the ramp. When the car went down the ramp, the rock stopped it from moving! The rock was the outside force that stopped the car.
