During White Oak's month long coding unit, third graders received an introduction to coding with the Pro-Bot robot during an extra "OWL" lesson (Opportunity With Learning) with one of their Inquiry Special teachers. OWL lessons are learning opportunities for both teachers and students. Third grade teachers then used this learning experience to create math activities for their measurement and area unit. Here are a few pictures from Mrs. Dean's class. These students were given the area of a quadrilateral to start. Students had to work backward to determine the length and width of the quadrilateral. Next, students programmed the Pro-Bot to draw their shape!
