Bright and early this morning, White Oak's STEM Team met to take on a few engineering challenges. Challenge #1 involved the big bad wolf and three little pigs. Team members had to build a home for one of the little bigs that would withstand the threat of the big bad wolf. Houses were constructed out of toothpicks, and the big bad wolf was a fan!
Challenge #2 required students to construct a launcher to determine which team's army figure would travel the farthest when launched. Supplies included a paper cup, rubber band, popsicle sticks, masking tape, plastic spoon, and of course a plastic army figure. We had fun testing out the launchers to see who's sent their figure the farthest. Teams were already busy discussing how they could make their launchers more effective. Wish we had more time! We might need to have a launcher day part II.
