Force and Motion in Action!

During our Forces and Motion unit, students participated in an experiment called “Away You Go!” The purpose of this experiment was to have students study the effect of forces on objects as they rolled down a ramp. Students tested two different objects - a toy car and a wooden block. When the object stopped moving, students measured the distance the object traveled using a meter stick. Students drew conclusions about the forces acting on the object. They also reviewed their data to see which object traveled farther and made hypotheses about why the two objects traveled different distances.
